The Difference That Decides Your Settlement
The two titles sound alike, here is the difference: A loss adjuster is appointed by the insurer to assess the claim on the insurer’s behalf. They are professionals carrying out a legitimate role, but their responsibility is to the insurer.
A commercial loss assessor is appointed by you, the policyholder. The role is to prepare, present and negotiate the claim from your side, so the loss is properly evidenced, presented and assessed under the terms of your policy.

How Commercial Claims Differ From Domestic Claims
Commercial claims are more complex because the damage rarely stops at the building. Stock, equipment, fit-out, business interruption and specialist evidence can all form part of the same claim. Each element needs to be assessed, documented and presented clearly under the terms of the policy.

A public loss assessor is appointed by you, the policyholder, and acts only in your interest. We prepare the claim, evidence the full extent of the loss and negotiate directly with the adjuster on your behalf.
Make the premises safe and take reasonable steps to prevent further damage, but avoid disturbing damaged areas or disposing of evidence unless needed for safety or emergency works. Photograph the damage where possible, keep damaged items where safe to do so, and retain receipts and records.
